Blink and you’ll miss it!

That seemingly has been the theme for the start of 2026.

February is done and dusted, highlighted by another cracking event by The Urban Developer at Howard Smith Wharves, thank you for the invite.

Terry Rawnsley put it so well, 2026 is bound to be filled with uncertainty. With the world events unfolding at the moment we are feeling the uncertainty. Attending the lunch gave the team a chance to hear from industry experts on the challenges and the opportunities we are all facing.

We experienced an amazing panel of experts moderated by Adam Di Marco

It was fabulous to see some real and candid comments from the panel. Michael McNab highlighted how hard it is to get Development Sites to stack up with supply chain difficulties continuing with Alex Levy from Traders In Purple echoing those thoughts commenting on how difficult delivery is at the moment. Christie Leet, Sherpa Group spoke about the importance of knowing your market and the relationship with your delivery partners being vital, thoughts echoed by many in attendance.

One of the highlights for the team was hearing Julian Simmonds from Economic Development Queensland speaking about their mandate for sparking activity with their land activation program. It’s certainly refreshing to see someone pushing for progress.

Despite all the challenges that currently exist there was plenty of optimism, from not only the panel but also the room, for what lies ahead in 2026 and beyond. We connected, we learnt, and we are inspired for the future of the industry.

Just don’t blink because you might miss it!
