In Brisbane’s property world, great partnerships are built on trust, shared vision, and a willingness to do the hard work.
Recently, Steve Gilbert, Spaces by Get Parked founder, had the opportunity to spend time with Matt Brandon from one of Brisbane’s leading development groups, Gallery Group. Gallery Group is a team known for delivering projects from the ground up, across an incredibly diverse portfolio stretching from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast.
Matt from Gallery Group summed up our partnership like this:
“The huge benefit for us us is the cash flow, where you would just see a dormant site...you guys keep the cashflow coming, it is an outstanding partnership. At the end of the day, having money coming in, the site being maintained and secured...that’s paramount for us.”
The early-stage work is where Spaces by Get Parked thrives. While developers focus on the long-term vision for a site, navigating planning approvals, design, and construction timelines, we step in to activate (care for) the space in the meantime. Because as anyone in property knows, the development process can take time.
In that time, valuable sites can sit idle and underutilised. Our role is to make sure they don’t. We transform these spaces into something useful, whether that’s parking, storage, or flexible retail/commercial use, we keep your sites active, maintained, and secure while your bigger vision moves through the development process. For asset owners and developers, that brings real benefits.
We provide a partnership, that is a practical solution during a time that can otherwise feel uncertain. Planning timelines shift, approvals take time, and construction start dates move. When we activate a space, it starts working for you immediately.
That partnership is something we take seriously. When a developer entrusts us with their site, even for a short period, it’s still their asset, and our job is to look after it as if it were our own, until whatever’s next.
Steve sums it up best:
“We get in and get our hands dirty up front to maintain your property, before anything glamorous ever happens.”
Because when spaces are used well, they don’t just sit waiting for the future. They start adding value for you immediately.
