Take Perry Lane. Perry Lane, Spring Hill, Brisbane. Previously an abandoned piece of land, filled with garbage, and considered an unsafe community eyesore, the space was a symbol of how abandoned and discarded spaces all across Brisbane can end up. But today, it tells a completely different story.
The team at Spaces by Get Parked, tidied, cleaned, secured, revitalised and then activated the space, and now it is a place where people can park their cars. Partnering with talented local street artists, the space is adorned with vibrant, large-scale murals that celebrate resilience and creativity from street artist Drapl. Another artist making an impact on the space is PJ, Mural Nomad, who not only creates stunning works of spray-can art on-site but also mentors women to embrace their creativity while providing a safe, inclusive space to thrive. The impact this space is having, is beyond the boundaries it's expected to stay within, with parkers and artists enjoying the space
